Born on September 22, 1954 into a family of teachers (the village of Prybyliv, Tlumach District, Ivano-Frankivsk Region).

Graduated from the Sniatyn Cultural and Educational College (1972) and, with honors, from the Music and Pedagogical Faculty of the Ivano-Frankivsk Pedagogical Institute named after Vasyl Stefanyk (1979). Holds the qualification of a teacher of the highest category, with 7 years of teaching experience in general secondary education institutions. Has been working at the university since 1982. Reserve captain.

Postgraduate student of the Department of Pedagogy at the Kyiv State Pedagogical Institute named after Maksym Gorky (1986–1989). Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences (1990), Doctor of Art Studies (2015). Laureate of the Vasyl Stefanyk Regional Prize (2015) in the field of literature (nomination: scholarly research, art studies).

One of the founders of Ukrainian campanology. Author of numerous works on issues of Ukrainian musical medieval studies, organology, in particular campanology, music pedagogy, higher education pedagogy, general pedagogy, and pedagogy of a healthy lifestyle. Author of many interdisciplinary studies (music – visual arts – literature). Belongs to the Lviv school of Ukrainian musical medievalists.

Member of two specialized academic councils for dissertation defense at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University for awarding scientific degrees:
a) Candidate of Sciences in specialties 17.00.06 – Decorative and Applied Arts, 26.00.01 – Theory and History of Culture (Art Studies);
b) Doctor of Art Studies in specialty 26.00.01 (Council D 20.051).

Director of the Bell-Ringing Research Center (affiliated with the Department of Performing Arts, Educational and Scientific Institute of Arts). Full member of the Shevchenko Scientific Society (NTSh) (2022).

Has taught university courses in History of Pedagogy, General Pedagogy, Methods of Social Work, Methods of Educational Work, Music Pedagogy, Methods of Music Education (Modern Educational Technologies in Music Teaching), Music Pedagogy of Higher Education, and Higher Education Pedagogy.

Under the academic supervision of B. Kindratiuk, two dissertations were defended:

  1. L. Ilchuk – Training Future Music Teachers for Educating Adolescents through Bell-Ringing Art;

  2. L. Soliar – Formation of Ethnocultural Competence of Future Music Teachers
    (both dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, specialty 13.00.04 – Theory and Methods of Professional Education).

Main Scientific Achievements

  • In co-authorship with Svitlana Lytvyn-Kindratiuk, outlined the psychological and pedagogical foundations for the use of Ukrainian ethnography in organizing a healthy lifestyle of schoolchildren;

  • Published the first monographic study devoted to the musical culture of the Galician–Volhynian Principality (12th–14th centuries);

  • For the first time, systematically studied the bell-ringing culture of Ukraine as a sociocultural phenomenon;

  • For the first time, systematized information on the musical culture of the West Ukrainian People’s Republic (1918–1923).
