On February 11, 2025, an open online lecture on “Key Professional Competencies in the Era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 as Inspiration for Education Transformation” was held. The event was organized by the Bohdan Stuparyk Department of Pedagogy and Educational Management.
The lecturer of the event was Wojciech Waliat, Professor of the University of Rzeszow (Poland), Doctor of Humanities in Pedagogy, who is also a professor at the Bohdan Stuparyk Chair of Pedagogy and Educational Management.
Valentyna Yakubiv, First Vice-Rector of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of introducing innovative educational technologies in the training of future professionals and stressed the importance of international academic cooperation in the development of competitive professional competencies.
The event was moderated by Professor Liubov Prokopiv, Head of the Bohdan Stuparyk Department of Pedagogy and Educational Management. She noted that in the context of digital transformation, the development of key professional competencies, including flexibility of thinking, creativity, digital literacy, communication skills, and lifelong learning, is of particular relevance.
The lecture was attended by more than 80 participants, including teachers, graduate students, and students of the Vocational Education. Digital Technologies”, ‘Educational and Pedagogical Sciences’, ‘Secondary Education (History)’, ‘Secondary Education (Ukrainian Language and Literature)’ and others.
It is gratifying that the event was also attended by representatives of other educational institutions, including Volodymyr Vynnychenko Central Ukrainian State University, Rivne State University of Humanities, Ivano-Frankivsk Professional College of Technology and Business, and other institutions. Such a wide geography of participants once again emphasizes the relevance of the lecture topic and the importance of discussing key competencies in modern education.
The event focused on the impact of technology on the modern labor market, the transformation of traditional educational approaches, and the opportunities and challenges posed by the digital age to the education system.
The lecture aroused keen interest and active discussion among the participants, who had the opportunity to ask Professor Wojciech Walat questions about future changes in education and the development of competencies necessary for successful professional activity in the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
