On March 20, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University hosted Stefanyk Info Day — a large-scale career guidance event that helped high school students take an important step toward choosing their future profession. Guests had the opportunity to become better acquainted with the educational opportunities of the university, communicate with students and lecturers, and take part in interactive workshops and quests.
The event was moderated by Halyna Voloshchuk, Director of the Educational and Research Center for Professional Career Development and Lifelong Education.
The event began with a welcoming address by the Acting Rector of the University, Ihor Tsependa, who noted:
“More than 17,000 students study at our university, receiving high-quality education, participating in international programs, and gaining unique experience. I invite you to explore our opportunities more closely — I am confident that you will want to become part of our Precarpathian University, which is not only the oldest but also one of the highest-ranked in the country! We strive to provide each student not only with quality education, but also with practical skills necessary for a successful future. By choosing our university, you choose a path of professional and personal development. We create an environment where everyone can realize their potential, receive the necessary support, and find opportunities to implement their ambitions.”
On this day, participants became acquainted with the following faculties:
— Faculty of Economics — for those who see themselves in the fields of economic cybernetics, accounting and taxation, finance, organizational management and administration, international economic activity management, marketing, or entrepreneurship.
— Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics — for future programmers, IT specialists, mathematical analysts, and researchers.
— Faculty of Pedagogy — for those who dream of working with children, becoming teachers, educators, social pedagogues, or experts in educational technologies.
The Stefanyk Info Day program was rich and diverse. Participants had the opportunity to attend:
— Interactive workshops and quests involving VR technologies, 3D graphics, programming, and robotics;
— Economic cases and business simulations that helped better understand the financial and management spheres;
— Communication with students and lecturers, which provided useful advice on admission and studying at the university;
— Special gifts, diplomas, certificates, and plenty of bright emotions. The event concluded with a ceremonial presentation of gifts and certificates to the winners of competitions, leaving participants with vivid impressions and motivation for future achievements.
The Department of Pedagogy and Educational Management named after Bohdan Stuparyk took an active part in the event. Department lecturers (Taras Paska and Mariana Dereniuk) together with students (Viktoriia Burchak, Iryna Matsapula, Dmytro Savchenko, Vasylina Haliuk, Mariia Verstiuk, Ihor Kishchuk) prepared a series of interactive activities aimed at developing participants’ critical thinking and media literacy. In particular:
— The activity “University of the Future: a Digital Lynx in the Virtual World”;
— The activity “Artificial Intelligence in the Frame: Uncover the Digital Secret”;
— The computer game “AI or Reality: an Attention Challenge”;
— The activity “Fake, ‘Jeansa,’ or Clickbait?”;
— The activity “Truth or Fake?”.
Thanks to these activities, future students were able to immerse themselves in the world of modern pedagogy, critical thinking, and digital technologies, which play an important role in the educational process.
Stefanyk Info Day once again confirmed that Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University is a higher education institution that combines traditions and innovations, providing students with modern knowledge, practical skills, and broad opportunities for professional development.
We invite you to become part of our educational program “Vocational Education. Digital Technologies”! We look forward to welcoming you to our friendly community of future educators and digital innovators.
