Students of the ‘Professional Education. Digital Technologies’ program visited the ‘City and Weapons’ museum

On April 9, 2025, students of the “Professional Education. Digital Technologies” program visited the interactive digital museum “City and Weapons” at the Potocki Palace. It was a true experience of immersing oneself in the past using modern multimedia technologies — especially relevant for us as future specialists in digital technologies.

The interactive digital museum introduces visitors to the turbulent historical periods of the development of the “Ideal City” of Stanislaviv in the 17th century, its defense, and its flourishing. On the museum’s touchscreens, we eagerly explored archival photos and videos, rare aerial footage of the city’s history, as well as the weapons and uniforms of its defenders. Everything we saw brought us closer to the tragic history of our nation and allowed us to deeply feel the atmosphere of past eras.

What impressed us most was how modern digital solutions make it possible not only to study history but also to experience it as a journey through time — from fortresses to war machines. This extraordinary approach opened new perspectives for us, as we saw firsthand how digital technologies can become a tool for preserving and promoting Ukrainian national culture, history, and education.

It is particularly remarkable that the digital museum creates a unique educational space, emphasizing the importance of historical memory, the value of freedom, and fostering a culture that can be stronger than weapons.

For us, students of the “Professional Education. Digital Technologies” program, this was not just an excursion but also an inspiration for our future professional achievements. We sincerely thank historian Petro Hantsiuk for the interactive and engaging tour into the past of our incredibly beautiful city.

Our student years have coincided with the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today, observing the unique museum exhibits, each of us dreamed of our Victory over the eternal enemy, and hoped that weapons would exist only in museums, not on the battlefield. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!
