The Value of Freedom and Memory: A Meeting at the Stepan Bandera Center for Patriotic Youth Education

Today, May 21, 2025, students of the “Professional Education. Digital Technologies” program visited the Stepan Bandera Center for Patriotic Youth Education, where a patriotic meeting was held.

It was a genuine experience of immersion in historical memory. Ms. Nataliya Ostapchuk delivered a very interesting and informative lecture about the tragic history of the 20th century, which left in the memory of Ukrainians numerous crimes committed by the Soviet totalitarian system.

Everything we heard brought us closer to the bloody history of our people and allowed us to deeply feel the atmosphere of the past century. It was particularly striking that the Center for National-Patriotic Education creates a unique educational space, emphasizing the importance of historical memory and the value of freedom.

We listened with interest to information we were partially familiar with, but the presentation of facts, photographs, and exhibition displays in this way was a completely new experience for us.

A profound impression on us was made by the multi-volume book “Books of Memory”, which records the names of victims who perished during the Holodomor as part of a genocide.

We will always remember the sacrifice of the finest sons and daughters of our nation, who, despite all obstacles, fought, died, yet never knelt before the enemy and achieved the Ukrainian State.
