Nataliia Basarab Conducted a Training on the Basics of Mediation

On September 17, in the city of Halych, at the “Visit Center” facility, with the support of the Halych City Council and at the invitation of the Rokada Charitable Foundation, a training session titled “Conflict Prevention and Resolution. Basics of Mediation” was conducted by Nataliia Basarab, Assistant of the Bohdan Stuparyk Department of Pedagogy and Educational Management at Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University.

The training was attended by representatives of the Center for Social Services, the Department for Veteran Affairs, the Department of Social Services, the Office for Children’s Affairs of the Halych City Council, and clerks from the community’s village districts.

The topic of the training proved to be highly relevant for social service professionals and local government representatives who face conflict situations in their daily work. The training aimed to develop professional competencies in communication, conflict resolution, and mediation and included both theoretical and practical components. Participants became familiar with algorithms for constructive responses to conflict situations, methods for identifying root causes, and practiced applying mediation techniques in the provision of social services.

Importantly, mediation is not only a method for resolving conflicts but also an effective tool for building strong, reliable, and harmonious relationships. Practicing mediation skills helps create an environment of trust, mutual understanding, and constructive communication, which increases the effectiveness of social work and improves the quality of services provided to community members.
